Dambali Fashions Exhibition and Fashion Forum

In by Shelley Pisani

Dambali is a Gooreng Gooreng word meaning ‘tracks’. It signifies moving forward and represents designer Julie Appoo’s passion for fostering and moving Indigenous fashion and textile design to greater levels. Dambali offers the opportunity to celebrate Indigenous design and creation of wearable art. The exhibition showcases Julie’s work and her students’ textile designs.

A fashion forum will be held to discuss the place for indigenous fashion on a local, national and global scale, and to plan and shape an annual event focussing on Indigenous textile and fashion industries, performance and culture.

This is a FREE event. Registration is required for catering purposes. Thank you.
